How payments work
Snag&Settle connects new-build homeowners with verified trade professionals, but we never hold your money. You agree the price directly with the trade and pay them in whatever way suits you both — bank transfer, card, or cash.
Why we don't take payments
Keeping payments between you and the trade means:
- No hidden platform fees added to the price
- You keep full payment protection under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
- Trades are paid promptly with nothing deducted
How you're protected
- Verified professionals — every trade is checked for qualifications, insurance and ID before being listed.
- Private quotes — all quotes are sent through the platform so there's a clear record of what was agreed.
- Independent mediation — if something goes wrong, every accepted-quote job is covered by our free dispute resolution service. See our Mediation Policy.
- Reviews from verified jobs — only customers who've completed work with a trade can leave a review, so ratings are genuine.
Tips for safe payment
- Always get a written quote before work starts.
- Agree a payment schedule in advance (e.g. deposit, stage payments, balance on completion).
- Keep messages and any agreements inside the platform chat.
- Pay by traceable methods (bank transfer or card) where possible.
- Hold back a reasonable balance until you're satisfied the work is complete.
